'A charming setting for our wedding anniversary get-away without the children. Every need had been catered for in advance, a lot of lovely extra touches. We're torn between raving about this gem to everyone we know and keeping it to ourselves to guarantee some availability! Don't worry Juliet..... It'll be the former. Thank you so much' (September 09)
'What an exciting place to stay especially for castle lovers like us! Would recommend a visit to Chepstow Castle - it just goes on and on! We particularly enjoyed a walk around the local fields looking back over the trees to see "our tower".' (August 09)
'Oohh, we like it here. A lot. We've had a lovely time exploring. Good hilly walks, mountain biking in the Forest of Dean (hire bikes from Pedal-a-bike-away near Coleford, you can book them and there are great trails, all marked), and some more hilly walks. We had a good (if a bit pricey) meal at The Foxhunter in Nant-y-Derry. And the best bit? Coming back to 'our' castle. Thank you.' (August 09)
'Very quiet, peaceful and comfortable. A great place...we didn't want to go out. And some great films on the library on the TV kept us in too. Loved the towers. Kibby's fish and chips were great (Bulwark)' (August O9)
'What a find! We have enjoyed our short stay here. Beautiful contryside, lovely accommodation. Thank you for all your assistance. Well worth the visit.' (August 09)
'Cocktails on the roof terrace become a regular occurance at sunset (unbeatable). We recommend Coffee#1 in Chepstow and Monmouth and the First Class Cafe in Chepstow railway station. Great walking and cycle rides. (August 09)

'It is, as described on the website, the perfect couple retreat. Three days was not long enough we hope to be back again soon. Thank you Juliet and William for sharing such a special place and for all your kindnesses and welcome. ' (April 09)
'We enjoyed a three night stay in the Gatehouse to celebrate my husband's birthday. A warm welcome from William (the fire had been lit in readiness for our arrival), a generous selection of treats and we were left to enjoy ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped - we were too cosy staying in to bother going out to eat - and rustled up some lovely meals. Sofa perfect for cuddling up in front of the fire, watching a dvd. Comfy bed - a great balance of mod cons and sense of history. Perfect for a weekend away from the family!' (March 09)
'Who needs a 'Welsh Country Cottage' when you can have your own mini castle! I want to live here! Thanks' (March 09)
'Gosh - an oustanding place. So much history and we went for a stunning dinner at the Crown at Whitebrook - only 1/2 hour drive. Tintern Abbey is a delight. The road to Monmouth via Trellech was amazingly beautiful and the peace here was outstanding. Thoroughly recommend this wonderful place.' (March 09)
