A luxury award winning period property, built in the time of Edward I, (we think it was built approx 1270) - the first historical mention is in 1307 when Bogo de Knovil died and his estate reverted to the Crown. An Award for our Conservation Work
On 26 June 2009 William Ayot was presented with an award for building conservation for the works done at Moynes Court at the Gatehouse and Courtyard House. The Award was presented by the Village Alive Trust in association with CADW and the Welsh Civic Trust
The Gatehouse was Voted Favourite Self Catering Property in Britain (runner up)
In 2010 we were proud to win the Sawdays Reader Award (runner up) for their Favourite British Self Catering Place. Sawdays have not run this award again - or we hope we would have won it again and again!
The property is self contained, and has its own entrance. There is parking for two cars (one behind the other). The owners live at the other end of the garden in a sixteenth century Monmouthshire gentry house.
Directions will be sent to you once you have booked. It is less than 2 hours from London (when the roads are clear), less than 30 minutes from Bristol, 40 minutes from Cardiff - and about 15 minutes from the M4/M5 junction. Click here to view map.
